- Thursday 18 August | 4.30pm - 6.00pm

- The Care Leavers Internship Scheme is a 12-month fixed term appointment at AO (Administrative officer) / EA (Executive Assistant) or EO (Executive Officer) grade for one to two years depending on the requirements of the role.
- These are AO/EA & EO roles that are paid at the same salary as any fixed term appointment in the government department that you are allocated to.
- In order to apply for the Care Leaver Internship Scheme you must have been eligible for a leaving care support package when you left care.
- In order to qualify for leaving care support, you must have been in care for a minimum of 13 weeks, some of which must have been after your 16th birthday.
- As these are ring-fenced opportunities, across government departments, these opportunities are only available to care leavers, who are aged 18-30 years.
- You must satisfy the Civil Service nationality rules.
- No qualifications are needed; however, you will need to provide good examples to demonstrate that you have the right skills and experience for the roles on offer.
- You will need to write a personal statement to demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria as outlined in the advert.

Recruitment timeline for 2022-2023
- 8th August- Advert goes live
- 5th September – Advert Closes
- 20th September – Successful candidates invited to interview
- 26th September– Interviews commence
- 7th October – Interviews finish
- Mid November- Successful candidates informed and allocation of successful candidates to departments.
