Telling the people that work with you how you feel can be difficult sometimes. To try to make this easier, Kent County Council have introduced the Mind of My Own app. It allows you to send your thoughts and feelings to any of the people who work with you like your Social Worker or Independent Reviewing Officer.
There are two versions of the app:
Express is for children under 8 or young people with learning difficulties. It is designed to be used with your worker when they visit you. With their help, you can answer questions about your school, health, your care or about yourself and how you are feeling.
The One App is for children and young people over 8. You can create an account for yourself and use it whenever or wherever you want to tell your worker or workers how you are feeling. On it, you can answer questions about lots of different topics, such as getting ready for a meeting, if you have a problem or even if you want to share good news. You can use a smart phone, a tablet or a laptop.
With the One App, you can say WHAT you want, WHEN you want and your worker or workers will get a better understanding of what’s going on from your point of view.
You can download the app on to a smart phone or tablet or find it online here.
